The Diablo 4 Season 4 full launch may have been delayed, but its Public Test Diablo IV Items  Realm release is right around the corner, with its patch notes set to drop very soon. Even though we don't know exactly what they're going to contain yet, we do know one thing – they're going to be absolutely enormous.

Blizzard Entertainment's global community development director for Diablo, Adam Fletcher, teases as such in a new tweet, recommending that anyone planning on reading them prepares a drink and some popcorn first. Based on the word count alone, it's fair to say that this is solid advice.

"Tomorrow morning is Diablo 4 Season 4 PTR patch notes day!" Fletcher writes. "Sorry it took a while to get these out. The blog and notes [come] in at over 10,000 words as a lot is changing in the next season."

Fletcher has given very little away about the actual details of the patch notes but notes that they won't reveal the theme of Season 4. This announcement will come "closer to Season 4," so we'll have to wait a little longer for that.

Season 4's enormity had already been hinted at before, as the size of its loot overhaul is the reason why Blizzard is implementing a Public Test Realm server in the first place, which will run from April 2 to April 9. Consequently, the season's full launch was pushed back to May 14 to give the developers enough time to work on the feedback that will inevitably be gained from it.

At its launch, Diablo 4's third season was slated by many players as "painfully unfun" and "a great step backwards," so here's hoping that the upcoming fourth one will go down a little better.

Blizzard has officially confirmed the Diablo 4 Season 3 release date to be January 23, 2024.

The studio has yet to reveal the date in the traditional social media/press release announcement duo, but the Diablo 4 login banner has been updated to read, rather unambiguously: "Next season begins January 23, 2024."

That date lines up with what we've largely been expecting, seeing as how Diablo 4 Season 2 is set to end on the same date. Still, it's good to have confirmation of an official launch date.

As we're still waiting on a full announcement, we know very little about what Blizzard has in store for Diablo 4's third season. The outgoing Season of Blood introduced a new Vampiric threat after Magistrate Oren's town was attacked by bloodthirsty monsters. Naturally, you were called to help, joining forces with the vampire hunter Erys. The whole Vampire theme came with new powers, items, and seasonal events and questlines, and you can expect something similar - and potentially more - from the next season.

While the meat of Season 3 is still under wraps, we do know it'll change how Helltides work in a pretty significant way. Associate game director Joseph Piepiora explained during December's Diablo 4 Campfire Chat that, starting with season 3, Helltides will run for 55 minutes out of each hour, leaving just five minutes between events. Then there's the addition of The Gauntlet, a new World Tier 4 dungeon, and a seasonal realm-exclusive dungeon we'll hopefully learn more about soon.

Maybe season 3 will convince this Diablo 4 player to return from cheap Diablo IV Items  retirement after they spent an entire month and 800 runs grinding all seven of the action-RPGs rarest items.
